Horndean Women's Institute
Meets on: second Tuesday of every month,
2pm-4 pm at Blendworth Church Hall,
(except August when there are outings!)

Our programme is varied and interesting
Meetings for 2008 are:

| 10th June: | A talk by Mr Jordan entitled 'Hampshire History in Song' |
| 8th July: | A talk by Mrs V Matthews entitled ‘Life on a Remote Island’ |
| 12th August: | A visit to Denbies Winery |
| 9th September: | A talk by Mrs E Russell entitled ‘Lillie Langtry’ |
| 14th October: | Our 89th Birthday Party - a talk by Pauline Hicks on ‘The Bourne Quilters’ |
| 11th November: | The Annual Meeting |
| 9th December: | A talk by Mrs K Minchin entitled Six Geese a What’ – Christmas Music and a Quiz. |
Do come along to any of these meetings and see if you would like to join us. Introduce yourself to any member as a visitor and we will make sure you are well looked after. We are a motley crew - all shapes and sizes - all ages - but what we have is friendship and the enjoyment of getting together once a month. Sometimes we have a speaker and sometimes we make our own entertainment. We always chat and have a cup of tea. We often have stalls selling home made cards, plants (in season), second hand books and occasionally home made crafts.
We also have a Craft Section that meets once a week at Napier Hall every Wednesday morning from 10-12 where we all bring along our own crafts and also have a coffee and a chat. Our Produce Group meets once a month for a chat about various aspects of food, recipes, produce etc and then they go for lunch at a local hostelry trying out a different one each time. We also have various outings and theatre visits. We meet several times a year with other WI’s in this area both for evening entertainment and competitions such as a quiz and skittles.

We have visited the Mayflower Theatre Southampton several times this year to see 'White Christmas', Starlight Express and 'Guys and Dolls'.
