Horndean, Hampshire, England twinned with Aubergenville, Yvelines, France
With the blessing of Horndean Parish Council and after much consultation with local organisations and the public, Horndean Parish Twinning Association (HPTA) was formed in May 1990.
It was called Horndean Parish because it was to include all settlements encompassed by the Civil Parish of Horndean so it includes Horndean, Catherington, Blendworth and that part of Lovedean which lies within East Hampshire District.
Initially HPTA set up a relationship with another town in France but after many years of exchanges the French town cut off all relations. Within a year a new and firm relationship was set up with Aubergenville. Please visit 'Our History' page to find out more.
An official charter declaring our twinning with Aubergenville, Yvelines, France was signed on 2nd May 1998 in Aubergenville and on 16th May 1998 in Horndean.
The Charters are on display in the Parish Council Offices.
